Quilts made with my shadow trapunto technique. The batting (this layer that is invisible on most quilts) is the star of my quilts.
The first layer of the quilt is a sheer organza, underneath there are the white design made out of batting, then a colored background, batting again and the backing.
The design is stitched twice: first – to create the trapunto then for the final quilting.
I am madly in love with this technique – I even wrote a book!
