I have made so many quilts lately with the pretty Fossil Fern fabric (by Benartex) that I had to make a new order. I think this is one of the prettiest fabric collections of all time (there are more than 120 colors in this line).
I recall my first fabric order in a quilt shop in the USA, about 16 years ago; I had to order from a quilt shop because I did not know how the fabric for quilting should be (my first quilts were made from home decor fabric!).
I did not know what to choose from thousands of fabrics so I chose some pieces from the cheapest and most expensive fabric; it was Kona cotton and batik. Kona cotton did not impress me too much, but the batik… for a few years most of my quilts were made with batiks!
15 years later, I don’t even remember when I bought batik the last time (but I want to change that soon) and my stash is full of Kona cotton! And I have always loved the Fossil Fern fabrics.
These are my latest quilts made with Fossil Fern; I think the fabric really added so much to my designs.
I bought my pieces from Over the Rainbow (no affiliate link), when it was on sale and with a coupon code, it was less than $7/yard.
Now to choose the colors for my next little quilted pieces.
Happy quilting!

I buy my fossil fern from Craftsy but they are no longer extending their stock of it and all is on clearance – I love that fabric!! The quilt on my large hand quilting frame is made of all fossil fern fabric

I bought almost 100 fat quarters in a box from Craftsy too, but there are so many colors in the box that I don’t like, that now I don’t think it was a good investment; the box looks so pretty but I learned that it’s better to buy it by the yard, in the colors I want!

Fossil Fern fabrics are my go to fabrics for my needleturned applique projects. Love them.
