I finished this quilt a few days ago.
All the fabrics are from the Fusions collection by Robert Kaufman.
It’s a decent size – 36”, it was a pleasure to quilt it.
Quilted with Aurifil 50wt.
The center octagon measures 2”.
The center design measures 28”. From 2” to 28” in just three steps!
The border is 5” wide and I chose to quilt double feathers (feather in feather) on it.
At first I thought the feathers are too small and you have to look closely to see their beauty, but in the end it was a great idea – the quilting on border doesn’t draw attention. The center design remains the star.

Gorgeous! The quilting design is so balanced! The center is the star ended, but my favorite is the border with the delicate feathers bound in a wreath, very well highlighted by the straight design.

This is awesome. So beautiful. I love the double feathers you quilted but the total quilt is just eye candy.

So inspiring! Wonderful how the design increases in size by leaps and bounds. Make me think of the Fabronacci spiral and sea shells. LOVE it!!!!
