I think this is one of the most interesting bag I have ever made. And one of the most beautiful too.
Here is my new faux leather woven bag, this time in argyle pattern. I just had to make one more woven bag!
After many patchwork bag, now I love weaving strips of faux leather.
When I started it I thought it could be the only one so I chose the favorite colors of my sister Nina.
This dark chocolate brown is my new black. I hate black and I think this color is a great replacement, it can be easily assorted with many colors.
The woven pattern looked great without any stitching over it (unfortunately I don’t have any picture), but this argyle pattern was my chance to try stitching over the woven pieces. So with great pleasure I chose two assorted colors of 12wt Aurifil thread- that very thick thread. This thread weight is perfect for topstitching, you can even feel the thread when you touch the stitching with your fingers.
Stitching over the pieces and keeping them in place was a little challenging at first. Now I am warned and next time I will be more prepared!
This was the stencil. It took me some time to figure out what to do and how to do it, but then it was really easy.
I am afraid I need new colors!

Thank you for all of your great sewing tips for sewing with foam interfacing! I did have a difficult time with sewing a fabric basket. Now that I have found your tips, the next fabric basket is going to be even easier to make!
