I finally finished one of the projects I have in the works. A pillow made with the fast technique that is fusible raw edge applique.
Just in time to enter it into the “2014 Pantone Quilt Challenge”; so here is my 16” pillow.
I love this design I made a few months ago; at first I thought to make a miniature quilt then I changed my mind; the 3D look is more visible on a pillow.
I love that I found in my Kona stash so many assorted colors!
The quilting ? Feathers that fill each piece – so easy, nothing to mark!
The back with a velcro closure.
It’s hard to stop at one! I have to finish one more! Different color palette, different quilting. Stay tuned!

Here is the other pillow I made with the same design.
Happy quilting!

The colors, placement, and quilting have made for one awesome pillow. It is absolutely beautiful. Adore the fabrics you chose for it. Beautiful quilting.

Your pillow is beautiful! I love the simple complexity. It reminds me of artists like Pablo Picasso from the cubism art movement. For a name maybe 'Avant-Garde'?

The pillow was an excellent choice for this block. I don't know what to call it either, but it looks like some of the other comments have great ideas. Your feathers are great! I'll have to try that quilting technique for filling in triangles. I'm surprised it was raw edge appliqué. I would not have been able to tell it wasn't pieced had you not confessed.

A gorgeous pillow! The pattern you've incorporated reminds me of gem facets, amethyst in particular. Maybe that could inspire a name?

I like all the names suggested by Lisa E and the 5 before my comment. My first thought was Feather Dream (Lydsfire also likes Dream) or Feather Flight.

Yay for you entering the Pantone Challenge. I did too, but I can already see that I'm beat! So many neat designs out there, and yours is fabulous. Love your quilting, as always. I hope a name for this becomes clear. It looks "fractured" to me.
Anne says
What a gorgeous design!! I don't have any suggestions for the name, but I love the way the shapes get more intricate as the progress towards the outside. Beautiful! Also a lovely choice for your back fabric as well. 🙂
