I started quilting almost 13 years ago and at the time I certainly didn’t think that someday I will turn my passion for quilting into a little business.
Any beginning is hard and mine was as well; but many people have helped me along the way, in a way or another.
8-9 years ago I had a few kaleidoscope kits for sale and Mihaela was my first Romanian customer. She bought the kit and sent me an encouragement letter that I will never forget.
Now she is my friend and just launched her first quilt pattern. I am so happy to share this pattern with you and to encourage her to follow her passion.
I tested her pattern and I am so glad I did. Look at this beautiful pillow! I made the top in 2 hours! There are lots of instructions and diagrams to help you create your own block; then you could make a pillow or sew a few blocks to make a quilt.
I am in love with this 3/8” grid quilting!

Then a few years ago I met Dora on Internet – a Romanian-born graphic
designer and quilter that lives now in California. Last summer she
visited me and we spent some wonderful time together.
I am in love with the carpet bags ans shawls she makes,
and I love her modern quilt patterns.
I just had to make a quilt following her pattern. If you have some stripes in your stash, this is a great pattern to use. Imagine the possibilities!
A fun and quick quilt.
In these days we want to see everything; we scan the web for inspiration and pretty pictures; we spend 5 seconds on a page then we leave to find something else. But sometimes we take the time and send someone a few words of encouragement. It means so much for that person. From time to time I receive such messages and I am so grateful.
Now I am happy that I can encourage these two quilters to follow their passion. I hope you will find some time to visit them. They will appreciate your visit.

Your work is lovely. I have several patterns of yours, but have yet to take the plunge into making them. I will… I am going back into my sewing room, and intend on getting back to quilting.

The selections you showed in today's email are lovely. Like Anita211, I have a pattern of yours, but feel I lack the skill to tackle it. The pillow is more my speed, and I am on my way to the designer's website to comment and then purchase the pattern. Wow! The pillow is wonderful and looks so doable, wish often isn't the case since I'm only a confident beginner. Your kaleidoscope Quilt has such wonderful movement to it. Both are wonderful. The carpetbags aren't my thing but the shawls are lovely, old world, and delicate. They are something lovely to own. Thank you for sharing beautiful things.

This is such a lovely post, Geta! You've encouraged me to be more grateful for all the talent that you and others are willing to share. Your skills are amazing – why I bought your Flower Ball pattern – and I love seeing how well you FMQ on a domestic machine. You're a girl after my own heart! I teach FMQ, and always encourage students to pursue quilting their quilts for themselves. It's a skill that's too easy to do by check!
