Today we have celebrated the birthday of my mother.
I made for her this quilt. Because we live in the same house, I could not hide the quilt from her. She saw the quilt as I worked on it, but I told her it is for the mother of a friend.
Astazi am sarbatorit ziua de nastere a mamei.
Am facut pentru ea acest quilt. Cum locuim in aceeasi casa, n-am putut sa ascund quiltul de ea. L-a vazut in timp ce lucram la el, dar i-am spus ca e pentru mama unei prietene.
In the last days she said to us: “I hope you will not spend money for a gift for me. I have all I need “. Well, we didn’t spend money at all: all the fabrics were from my stash !
While I was working on it, she said to me: “This is the most beautiful quilt you ever made !”.
I know she loves bold colors so I was lucky having these fabrics in my stash.
In ultimele zile ne-a spus: “Sper ca nu cheltuiti bani pe un cadou pentru mine. Am tot ce imi trebuie”. Ei, n-am cheltuit bani, toate materialele au fost din rezerva mea !
In timp ce lucram la el, imi spunea: “Acesta e cel mai frumos quilt pe care l-ai facut vreodata !”.
Stiam ca ii plac culorile intense, asa ca am fost norocoasa ca am avut aceste materiale.
I don’t know where I saw for the first time the block used in this quilt, but I am in love with this pattern. It offers so many possibilities ! I love the floating squares !
Nu stiu unde am vazut prima oara blocul folosit in quilt, dar m-am indragostit de acest model. Ofera atatea posibilitati. Si ce imi plac patratele din centru care parca plutesc !
The center of the block is a kaleidoscope square. Every patch is quilted, as this quilt will be intensively used 🙂
Centrul blocului e format dintr-un patrat kaleidoscope. Am quiltuit fiecare bucatica, quiltul va fi intens folosit 🙂
The quilt was the gift from all her four daughters:Nina, Geta, Oana, Ushu
Another member of our family: the little Pepe.
It is unbelievable how much joy and happiness he brings us.

Fabulous. You get so much done so very quickly, even though you say you don’t make big quilts, this is certainly not small! I know how much time such close quilting takes. It is very beautiful and so is your family. Your mom is very lucky to have you surround her on her birthday. Please give her my very best wishes for many more healthy years.
I know what you mean when the recipient stays in the same house. I did not say exactly for whom when my mum asked – just said its a king size. I made for my parents a Bistro quilt.

La Multi Ani, mamicii tale ! sunteti niste frumoase toate in poza comuna! quiltul este mai mult decit superb, stiu ca iarasi ai lucrat non-stop, din greu la el, dar uite: cind vezi cit de luminata e la fata mama ta, poti spune cu sufletul usor : merita!!
