I don’t like to make appliques but because I didn’t have a choice, under every flower I made trapunto (it was easier for me to use batting instead of fusible interfacing ).The flowers are so fluffy !Nu-mi place sa fac aplicatii, dar fiindca n-am avut incotro, sub fiecare aplicatie am facut trapunto (mi-a fost mai usor sa pun vatelina si sa decupez decat sa pun termocolant) !
Florile au iesit foarte pufoase !
For her 5th anniversary I wasn’t prepared with a new quilt ! It wasn’t enough time ! So I was deciding to buy her a dress (she’s crazy about dresses ). But I wasn’ t content ! I had the feeling that I only buy a gift instead of giving a gift from heart ( I think everyone who uses to make handmade gifts has this feeling).So, with only one week until the big day and taking into account that she lives in America and I live in Romania, I started to sew something for her.Since few months ago I saw on several blogs some cute fabric baskets for dolls. Yesterday I saw a new one here, and I fell in love with it. So I had to make one myself. I found a tutorial here.
Pentru aniversarea de 5 ani, nu eram pregatita cu un nou quilt ! Nu a fost timp ! Asa ca ma hotarasem sa-i cumpar o rochita (bineinteles ca e innebunita dupa rochite !). Dar nu eram multumita ! Aveam impresia ca doar ii cumpar un cadou, nu ca ii daruiesc ceva din suflet (cred ca se intampla tuturor celor care obisnuiesc sa faca cadouri lucrate manual). Asa ca, cu o saptamana inainte de ziua cea mare, si tinand cont ca ea locuieste in America si eu in Romania, m-am apucat in mare graba sa-i lucrez ceva !
De cateva luni am vazut pe diverse bloguri cosulete pentru papusi. Ieri am vazut unul nou aici, si m-am indragostit de el ! A trebuit sa fac si eu unul ! Am gasit un tutorial aici.

N-am pisuit sau pictat acest material, e un imprimeu din comert.
Imi place la nebunie cosuletul ! As vrea sa mai fiu copil si sa am si eu unul !

Am facut si o paturica pentru papusa !
And because now Alexa is more interested about reading and writing than about dolls, I had to make her a little bag for carrying books, pencils, etc …
Si cum Alexa e mai preocupata acum de scris si citit decat de papusi, a trebuit sa-i fac si o posetuta pentru caiete, carti si creioane !
I made even a fabric flower ( I found a tutorial here ) ! It’s easy to make and so pretty !
I-am facut si o floricica (am gasit un tutorial aici) ! E usor de facut si extraordinar de aratoasa !
When it comes to hand sewing I am such a disaster !
- The stitch on green circle is the only “decorative” stitch I know to sew :).
- I didn’t even have a good needle (it was dull )!
- That turquoise button was one of the 3 “decorative” buttons I had !

And, of course, I didn’t have a heavier decorative thread !
I HATE HAND SEWING !
Sunt o catastrofa cand vine vorba de cusut cu mana !
- Cusatura de pe cercul verde e singura cusatura manuala “decorativa” pe care o stiu 🙂
- Nici macar ac de cusut bun nu am avut, n-avea varf !
- Nasturele turcoaz e unul din cei 3 nasturi “decorativi” pe care i-am gasit in toata casa !
- Si de ata decorativa, mai groasa, nici n-a putut fi vorba, am pus un fir de papiota in 4! (poate ca aveam ceva fire de tricotat, dar n-am avut timp sa caut ! ).
URASC SA COS DE MANA !
I hope Alexa will enjoy these little things for many years !
I made them in 12 hours (including designing). I didn’t eaven eat until I finished them.
Now they are on their way to USA.
I make all the quilts with love , but the quilts for special persons are special too!
And the quilts for babies are even more special !

Am lucrat la ele cam 12 ore (inclusiv cu partea de design). Le-am facut dintr-o suflare, nici n-am mancat pana nu le-am terminat ! Sunt deja in drum spre America !
Toate quilturile le lucrez cu drag, dar cele cu un destinatar anume sunt speciale ! Iar cele pentru copii sunt si mai speciale !
ce vesele suuuunt! Alexa va fi mai mult decit incintata cu asa cadouri :)).
Sa-ti trimit niste ace pt cusutul manual ?? poate totusi o sa-ti placa in viitor ;))))))
Geta, you are so creative it is simply amazing. I don’t know which of the quilts or gifts I like best. They are all so unique and wonderful. I wish I had 1/10 of your originality and skill. I know your little friend will love this year’s gift and must treasure all of the gifts you have made for her. Lucky young lady.
Geta, sunt cu adevarat speciale! Pana si floarea aceea cu buton albastru este ata de ochioasa. Ce daca n-ai avut decat trei nasturi, important este ca unul dintre ei s-a potrivit atat de bine! Intreaga colectie Alexa este de vis. Tin minte cand mi-ai trimis o fotografie a quiltului cu poze, acum 4 ani, am ramas muta de emotie si admiratie. Si acum le admir pe toate la fel de mult.
Draga mea, cu mana sau cu masina, importanta energia pozitiva pe care o pui in ceea ce faci, si cum tu faci bine ce faci, rezultatul e limpede!
O fetita va fi fericita in curand! Intr-adevar un cadou din inima!

These are adorable. She will love the dolly basket, and will fill with many important things. She will also like the pretty bag to carry all her books, etc…and of course the quilt is awesome too. She will love them all!
