FROSTY SNOWFLAKES quilt pattern
I have 10-12 snowflake designs on my computer, sadly, I had to choose only two for this pattern.
One for a small block, finished as a table topper.
Block size: 13'' x 13''
A patchwork block
Easy cutting and piecing
Everything is cut from 1.5'' wide strips.
This is how you piece the blocks.
One requirement
This is an easy and quick sewing, but it requires one thing:
accurate 1/4'' seam allowance!
Ready for a challenge? Accurate piecing is not my strength, but I wanted to sew this design, so I decided to take the plunge!
Actually, half of the snowflake quilts were pieced (and quilted) by one of my sisters - a beginner!
Accurate piecing must be practiced- START NOW!!
Different ways of quilting
Instructions are provided for quilting in 4 different ways.
All those little squares measure 1'', but many of them are created by quilting from long strips!
This is the easiest quilting
It textures the design beautifully.
A bigger design: 27''
The design may look complicated, but the block is actually made out of 4 identical quarter blocks, so you sew the same small block four times and then join the blocks into the snowflake.

This was actually the first project I made for this pattern and I can tell you that practice matters!
Free motion quilting (stippling is just fine) on the entire surface of the quilt is another option, if you don't want to quilt a grid.
