So I stitched these beautiful bags. They are made from quilting fabric and Decovil light interfacing. The lining is heavyweight fabric from Ikea. This is one of my older bag pattern, Chantal. I don't like pink but this combination with gingham is irresistible! I spent some time pressing every seam, after each step. And I pressed them again, in the end. I made the best I … [Read more...]

Remembering Paris
September again. With great pleasure I remember September of 2013. One year ago, I and my hubby loaded the car with some stuff and we headed to Paris. Three days on the road and we arrived there. We loved out adventure on the road, we loved Paris, the Mylene Farmer's concerts (and oh, the feeling when I found out that our quilt won an award at Houston) but most of all I loved that all my three … [Read more...]
Quick Gifts!
I am always in trouble when I have to sew gifts for men! What to sew for my 24-year-old nephew, in just a few hours? Three years ago I made this quilt for him. These pouches came to my mind. So here is what I stitched in two hours! My FAVORITE gift to sew! He travels often so I hope they will be useful. I love to piece faux leather. I thought that the seam allowances will make inserting … [Read more...]
Still playing with faux leather
I hope my bags don't become too boring - I am not tired of making them. I still have colors or types of faux leather that I want to try. And because always there is someone's birthday - these are the easiest gifts to sew and the recipients love them. Always! Isn't fabulous this color ? And the pattern on faux leather really doesn't require a complicated pattern for the bag. I love to combine … [Read more...]
New tote bag and pouches
Hello everybody! How are you? I am glad to be home again. I loved Vienna and Robbie Williams but there is no place like home! I have many projects on the "to do" list but the most pressing was a gift for a friend. I have no idea if she likes red! I hope so! This is such a quick project- it took me four hours and more than one hour I pieced the squares. I forgot to sew a zippered pocket on the … [Read more...]

Pouches Galore
If you remember the sweet little quilted pieces from last week, here is what they became! The darling prints are from the "Petal" collection by Tanya Whelan - I have the entire collection and can't wait to use more of it in the future. I ran out of fusible fleece so I used batting and I quilted everything - such nice texture and nice feel. These two pouches are spacious, they have boxed … [Read more...]
Tablet case- a first try!
Someone asked me to sew a tablet case. I followed this wonderful technique explained here by one of my Romanian friends (the link is a google translation). It was so quick and easy! I fused a heavyweight interfacing to the outside fabric and fusible fleece to the lining. I added a magnetic snap. But I made a mistake and I had to start over and the whole thing is now too small. I have to … [Read more...]
