Does this happen to you too ? Sometimes Blogger changes a little the colors of some of my photos, after I upload them into a blog post. At least, it is what I see on my monitor. These colors are really beautiful: indigo blue and taupe. Perfect combination for my sister Oana: she loves blue and sober colors. I made a lot of bags for my sisters but they carry them all the time and I think they … [Read more...]
Faux Leather Bag
A new bag - the first item sewed in the last two weeks. It's great to feel again the desire to sew! And look at this texture! Achieved with no effort. It's just fabric- a soft faux leather with a partially cut away pattern. The fabric stretches and I had to be creative with the straps. The lining is a stiff and heavyweight canvas. I love more and more this pattern. It's the same … [Read more...]
Cat and Dog Pouches
Our family is growing and growing. With more ... dogs! If you live in a civilized country where most dogs have families and they are not abandoned on the streets, then I ENVY you, badly! So naturally, we visit our veterinarians very often! More often than we visit human doctors! Our veterinarians are husband and wife and very nice people. And because I have these cat and dog prints in my … [Read more...]
Faux Leather Bag in Argyle pattern
I and my sister Nina make a lot of plans. She will retire in about 4 years and we dream to grow my little business and work together! For now she took three weeks off from her job and we thought we will stitch a lot! The first week my nephew Alex was sick - we stitched nothing! The second week Alex went to his home but he left the cold - we stitched almost nothing! This is the third week … [Read more...]
Beach Bag
If you live near sea, then you need a beach bag, right ? I made this bag for my friend Sanda. The fabrics are Ann Kelle (R Kaufman). I used the same technique used on this bag, but I changed the size. I love this large pocket... I added even a zipper closure! It's very roomy... I used Decovil light interfacing. I see more bags like this one in the future! Have a … [Read more...]

Pouches Galore
If you remember the sweet little quilted pieces from last week, here is what they became! The darling prints are from the "Petal" collection by Tanya Whelan - I have the entire collection and can't wait to use more of it in the future. I ran out of fusible fleece so I used batting and I quilted everything - such nice texture and nice feel. These two pouches are spacious, they have boxed … [Read more...]
Large Tote Bag
More than 3 years ago I made a large tote bag for a new mom in our family - my youngest sister Nico. My little nephew Alex visits with us very often and I am already sick of that bag! I had to make a new one- bigger! The back is different. I love the 2 color straps. The black straps is just a little wider than the white one. Happy sewing! … [Read more...]
Tablet case- a first try!
Someone asked me to sew a tablet case. I followed this wonderful technique explained here by one of my Romanian friends (the link is a google translation). It was so quick and easy! I fused a heavyweight interfacing to the outside fabric and fusible fleece to the lining. I added a magnetic snap. But I made a mistake and I had to start over and the whole thing is now too small. I have to … [Read more...]
Some gifts
I did not sew too many gifts in December. It's not that I did not want to. But a cold kept me in bed for days. I loved to sew these little pouches. It took me just a couple of hours. It is so easy to sew with faux leather - you don't need interfacing. Because one of them was for a little girl, for that one I used a print and fusible fleece. I don't have imagination when it comes to … [Read more...]
