I am in love with my new pouch with pocket. I made it for my sister Nina, to match her bag. There are a few details that I like very much:the top zipper... this type of corner (the lining looks the same, but it's too bulky inside, I have to change this next time )... And I love most that I did not have to add tabs to the zipper ends- I just hate this step! It's a super quick … [Read more...]
Mini tote bags – finally finished
It's hard to make 10 bags, even if they are minis! Even if you think you sew quickly! Even if the fabrics are different and beautiful! All my appreciation for those who make a living from this type of business. I could not do it day after day. All the bags are quilted - they are soft but still have body. Just perfect for little girls. I used my Chantal pattern. I am big fan of Ann Kelle … [Read more...]
Mini tote bags
The first two. I am making 10! I am still working on them. And I feel that I will never ever finish them! I blame the beautiful fabric! I don't think I need right now 10 mini bags! Bag Pattern: Chantal … [Read more...]
My new bags
I am so excited, because stitching these two bags, I learned something new. First I made this one, with beautiful heavyweight fabric from Ikea. A new trip to Ikea is in line, because this fabric is gorgeous. They have a version with blue instead of pink and grey gingham. I need them NOW! My first try of stitching a hidden zippered pocket. It wasn't successful! A … [Read more...]
New purse for a little girl
It's time to make purses for little girls - Christmas is almost here. Bored by this pattern (here and here), and this one I thought to try something new. And because I love these bags I made for me and my sisters, I thought to modify the pattern and make a mini version. It's not the shape I want but at least I wasted pretty fabrics! What can I do, I can't work with ugly fabric! I … [Read more...]
New Faux Leather Bags
After many beautiful prints and all kinds of interfacing, it was the time for a little change: solids colors, no interfacing, soft and flexible bags. And easy patchwork. The bags are different: colorful or sober, with a simple or more complex pattern, in different sizes and with different straps. One thing remains the same : the pleasure of piecing this soft faux leather. More pictures … [Read more...]
Faux Leather Bag
We are home again. Paris was wonderful (with the exception of weather!); Mylene Farmer was wonderful and at 52, more beautiful than ever. Her shows - PERFECTION (some short videos here and here )- I will count the days until December 2014 to have the DVD. Bad weather = time for shopping so I enjoyed shopping. And I bought a few things I can't buy online. And I started already to work with … [Read more...]
Notre Aventure Parisienne
There was a time (oh, long time ago!) when my French language was 10 times better than it is now my English. But I did not use it and I forgot probably 90% of what I knew. But this is not an impediment in loving the music of French singer Mylene Farmer. We are ready for our third trip to Paris to see her in concerts. We have tickets for 3 concerts. I know, you think we are crazy. Are we crazy … [Read more...]
My Bags for Paris
What do you think ? Am I ready for Paris ? I am very busy this week so I will let the pictures speak for me. I would say only that the beautiful fabrics used for these bags are from Jenean Morrison collection "In My Room" - madly and forever in love with it! My all time favorite fabric! Have a great sewing week, Geta PS. Here are the other bags made from this fabric … [Read more...]
New Bag
I made a new shoulder bag. The floral fabric is "Wrenly" by Valori Wells. I modified the pattern of the apple bag below and made a smaller version. It's smaller but more spacious, it has a deeper gusset. Zippered pocket, magnetic snap... long strap. You can't say whether you like a bag or not until you finish the very last stitch, fill the bag with you stuff, put it on the … [Read more...]
