So I made new bags for my youngest sister Nico. I still have fabric from Jenean Morrison collection In My Room;the green fabric is Kona cotton. I wanted to add so many things on this small bag, but fortunately I understood that I can't do them all in just a few hours and finally I kept it simple. So simple that I neglected too much the top edge; in the end, I had to add a … [Read more...]
Tote bag for the beaches of Florida
No, none of us is going to Florida! I made this for a dear friend of mine who lives in Florida, near the beach. As I live at the foot of the mountain and I see the sea and the beach once in a few years - this meaning VACATION - I can say I envy her; a little; maybe a little more! I still have beautiful fabrics and I still enjoy Danielle pattern! This is the largest version of the … [Read more...]
Tote bag for the beaches of Greece
This tote bag will travel to Greece, with my youngest sister, Nico. I used the largest version of my Danielle pattern, but I reduced the pattern to 90%; Nico did not want a too large bag. Fabric used is from the Wrenly collection by Valori Wells I made it with the heavyweight Decovil interfacing and I LOVE it. When I will have more time I will try to compare the bag made … [Read more...]
Zippered Pouch
Today I made a zippered pouch. It looks like an ordinary pouch, but it is not. Because there is a zippered pocket inside. And it is more than a zippered pocket. It is a pocket divider. It is stitched into the bottom and side seams, dividing the lining space into 3 compartments. I want to put pocket dividers in my next bags, so I thought to try my hand first on a smaller … [Read more...]
New tote bag
I wore this bag in the last few months and I love it - very comfortable, in spite of the fact I am not mad about its shape. I wanted to try a new interfacing and I made a new bag - almost the same shape but stitched in a different way. The interfacing is Decovil light- manufactured in Germany by Freudenberg. This fusible interfacing gives the fabric the look and feel of a very fine … [Read more...]
Mini tote bags
We already have summer temperatures and I thought it's time to make some summer mini- bags - you don't know when a little girl needs a mini bag. And I made 7- using my Danielle pattern. Just for the pleasure of combining fabrics. I love even the straps! The fabric was quilted on a puffy polyester batting - the bag is soft, perfect for little girls. 2 fat quarters make the … [Read more...]
New Tote Bag Pattern
Here are a few of my latest tote bags. All the fabrics used for these bags are from the Breeze collection by Rosemarie Lavin Design for Windham Fabrics. In love with the front pocket - there is nothing better than a deep, outside pocket. The bag is roomy and it has a zippered pocket on the back. Of course, I couldn't help myself and I modified the pattern and I also stitched a large … [Read more...]
New Purse
I made this to welcome spring, only that now it is snowing! The pretty Ann Kelle fabric was the perfect choice for this small bag. It is small ...see below. Do you like the fancy pocket on the lining ? I made it in 3 minutes! I cut it out from a shirt! So save those shirts! Even if it is only for the pockets! Because the bag is small, my initial thought was to fuse 2 layers of … [Read more...]

“Danielle” Bag
Amelie, Belle, Chantal - now it's Danielle (thank you to my Danielle reader who suggested this name )! And definitely will be a bag name starting with "E" this year. I made this "Danielle" for my friend Sanda. My sister Oana did not have any complaint about her "Danielle" , so that I did not make any change to the pattern. The fabrics are from Jenean Morrison "In My Room" collection, … [Read more...]
