Hello and Happy New Year! Are you ready for a new sewing adventure? I know I am anxious! And as always, 24 hours in a day seems not enough for all the things I want to do. But I am determined to be more organized and achieve my goals in less time than usual. First working day and one lesson learned! Actually, I learned it (the hard way) a few months ago, but today I had the … [Read more...]
Color Me Rainbow – raw edge applique quilt pattern
I am happy to share with you "Color Me Rainbow" - my newest quilt and pattern. Quilt size: 25'' x 25'' Center design: 20'' diameter Isn't fun that a fabric rosette inspired this pattern? I love making small quilts- not too much fabric needed, only a few hours to put the top together and best of all, so easy to quilt! And did I mentioned the wonderful technique that is fusible raw edge … [Read more...]
Colorful applique quilt
I finished another version of the "Secret Flower Garden" quilt pattern. This is the mid-size version, the flower sphere measures 20''. The quilt is 27'' square. Here is how it was and how it is now! After I did the "colored free motion quilting" on this quilt, I wanted to play again with thread on the background. I used the thick Aurifil 12wt thread. As you can see, the quilting … [Read more...]
My New Raw Edge Applique Quilt
I love FUSIBLE raw edge appliques. I don't have patience for other types of appliques but I LOVE this quick and easy technique. Happy to show you the "Color Me Hexy" quilt! It measures 18'' and the center design is 14''. The fabric is Kona cotton and it is quilted with Aurifil 50wt. The quilting (and the fusible web) is what keeps the appliques in place. I did not secure the edges … [Read more...]
Multicolor Free Motion Quilting
I am happy to share with you my latest quilt! This is the mini version of my pattern- the flower sphere measures 15'' and the quilt is 25''. It was a quick quilt to sew- if you already bought my pattern, I highly recommend to start with this version. I love the color palette and the quilting. This multi-color free motion quilting is new to me. It takes less time than you expect and it is easier … [Read more...]
My new Two Color Quilt and Pattern
My new two color quilt is finally on my mother-in-law's bed. I wanted it to be warm and lightweight so I chose to use a polyester batting. The polyester batting doesn't highlight the quilting the same way as a cotton batting - we can't have all the advantages in a piece of batting! Do you remember how it started? There are 121 blocks and 11 different patterns. I pieced the blocks and … [Read more...]
New Raw Edge Applique Quilt and Pattern
Here is my new quilt - "Color Your World'. The center design measures only 26'' and the quilt is 34''. This is a similar design with Windows into my World. This pattern is one of my best selling patterns and I did not expect that, because English paper piecing requires a lot of time! So I thought to design something similar but: - with more blocks and more colors - more complex design - … [Read more...]
My New Raw Edge Applique Quilt and Pattern
I made this quilt thinking of you! I wanted to make something similar with this quilt but at the same time something that can be made in days and not months or years! And what technique is faster than raw edge applique? (Ok, maybe this one?) The quilt is 55'' and the flower sphere measures 42''- a manageable size! Are you bored with my feathers on hexy flowers? All the fabrics are Kona … [Read more...]
My New Wholecloth Quilt
I finally finished the adventure of the wholecloth quilt. The quilt is big and I couldn't photograph it properly inside my home. Maybe in the future I will take some pictures outside. I found even a name for it: " My Rainbow Flower Garden"! Very proud of me - you know I always ask YOU to name my quilts! Here it is on the floor. It measures 75''. Since I made this mini quilt a few months … [Read more...]
Lollipops Quilt Pattern
I am happy to share with you my latest pattern. I started it in December and I hoped to finish it by Christmas! Now it's great that I finished it before Easter. The technique is quick and easy and the fabrics I found in my stash and the patterns stored on my computer were screaming to be used. It was hard to stop at three little quilts! All the fabrics used are from the "Mixmasters Satinesque" … [Read more...]
