This article was posted a few days ago on Stash Manicure. Here is my latest project -a photo album I made for my sister Nicoleta. With photos of Alex, her 5 month old baby boy. I printed a few photos on fabric (in my inkjet printer), I made a nice cover and I fused them, one for every month of Alex’s life. In the next months I will easily add new pictures. On his first anniversary, there … [Read more...]
A new start
Do you remember this quilt I made for my mother ? She keeps it only for special occasions so I will make for her another quilt, for everyday use! I have to finish it in a few weeks, before her birthday. Lots of HSTs, in the perfect size, but lots of mess. And my allergy doesn't seem to love it. … [Read more...]
Fun with yo-yos
I need a few yo-yos for the little purses (yes, I finished those little purses, but now I need one day to take pictures!).I made a few and it was fun. There is even more fun if you use a yo-yo maker. This little tool is really of great help. I bought only one, in small size, but I would like to have them all, they make beautiful shapes. … [Read more...]
Piecing spandex
I don't like to work with scraps - I don't have enough patience and time. I also don't have space for them and usually I give them to my friends. I like a big piece of fabric I can fold in eight and cut many pieces at once. But sometimes I make exceptions, it was the case with a few small swatches of spandex. I couldn' resist to their colors so I spent some time cutting them.It wasn't hard at all … [Read more...]

Washing Fabrics
In the last few days I organized my fabric stash. My bedroom is my “studio” and because it is so convenient to have the fabrics on hand, I kept some of them there. But now I moved them all.Last summer I became allergic to the chemicals contained by fabrics. How ironic is that: a quilter to have allergy to fabrics! Before this I wasn’t allergic to anything, or, at least, I did not have any sign of … [Read more...]

New Quilt, New Pattern, New Give Away
Quilting in Romania is sometimes challenging! You can't be bored! I will tell you about some challenges in January. Now I am glad I can finally share this quilt with you. I made it for my sister Nina. I did not plan to make a quilt for her, but I had purple fabric in my stash and since she loves purple, I had to use it. In my family we can't keep secrets too long. I wanted to keep secret … [Read more...]
Piecing Fleece
One of my friends sent me a few strips of fleece and yesterday I made a blanket for my little nephew. These are 5'' squares. I stitched them with long stitches and the widest seam allowances. I pieced the blocks and finger pressed the seam allowances open then I stitched them down. No bulky seam allowances on the back side. Some of the blocks distorted more than others so that I adjusted … [Read more...]
