These are the small and quick versions, made in Christmas fabrics. Bored by free motion quilting, I quilted them with the walking foot and loved it. Hopefully I will finish it soon! … [Read more...]

Thank you Amy for creating such a fun time!I've decided to share this quilt with you (some of you already know its story) because this is one of my favorite quilts.Ten years ago I discovered quilting on Internet, absolutely by chance. Labels for quilts
One lesson I don’t want to learn: to add labels to my quilts. I have never paid attention to this detail. Probably because the permanent markers I have are not so permanent…I think that after washing the writing will fade anyway. But my friend Mihaela helped me to become a serious quilter. A few weeks ago I received from her a beautiful box and inside of it I was so surprised and excited to find a … [Read more...]
My sewing machines
On Monday I started to work on my husband quilt. I made the top in February and since in two weeks will be his birthday, I want to finish it until then.I thought I will quilt it in a day, being helped by my friend Jack. But I was wrong, I forgot that quilt measures 80"x92". I worked three days on it and still I have to wash it an add binding.Meet my friend Jack, my industrial sewing machine !It's … [Read more...]
My weekend
Hi everyone, I hope you spent a wonderful weekend, mine wasn't wonderful at all. After I made a beautiful quilting on the center of a quilt, on Friday evening I started to quilt the background. I will never take decisions on Friday evening ! Especially after dinner ! After a half hour of work I decided I don't like the quilting so I started to rip out the stitches. But it took me 8 hours to … [Read more...]

Have a great evening (or night, or morning )! … [Read more...]
Washing quilts
I wash all my quilts after I finish them. If a quilt is not too large I wash it by hand. After washing, all the quilts go in the washing machine for a short cycle of spinning. After that, if the quilt is small I lay it to dry on a flat surface. If the surface I have is too small for the quilt, I usually hang the quilt to dry on this cardboard tube ( used by the fabric manufacturers for … [Read more...]
Beautiful fabrics
A few weeks ago I had to buy a spool of water soluble thread. But how to justify $14 shipping for just one spool of thread ? So that I ordered a few yards of fabric too and I ended up paying $29 ! Great math and great saving !I just couldn’t resist to these fabrics from equilter.com.These are from 'Serenity' collection by Daiwabo for E.E. Schenck. And these are from 'Connections' collection by … [Read more...]

A new baby quilt
I am glad you like Adelina's quilt, I hope you will like this one too. It' s for a baby boy. I love contrasts and the quilts with light colored background are always my favorites. I love bubbles too, so no wonder I quilted bubbles again. So nice texture - it invites you to rub your hands all over the quilt. The white quilting looks great on dark fabrics. I love it ! Usually I don't … [Read more...]
