Free motion quilting could be intimidating. As a beginner quilter, we see the work of other quilters and we think we will never be able to quilt as beautiful as them. We know the feeling because many of us where there. But we know that the hardest thing is to start. So I thought to include a few (famous!) words of encouragement in my new free motion quilting ebook. Stay tuned for a … [Read more...]
Design Wall for Quilters
I found that the easiest way to photograph quilt tops is after you made the quilt sandwich. The fabric sticks nicely on cotton batting, keeping the quilt top perfect and flat. This top is already quilted and washed, tomorrow I will add the binding! For my new sewing studio I plan to make a portable design wall, covered with cotton batting or maybe flannel. While I rarely need it … [Read more...]

I started with a 2'' octagon. The size of the triangles increases exponentially. The final size of the piece is 28''. Of course! Edited to add: Interested to … [Read more...]
Modern Dresden Fan/Plate Quilt
I am happy to finally share with you my new quilt. A version like this I made first in 2011 and since then I have seen many other on Internet. I don't know why it took me so long to make this one, because this block is fun and the result spectacular. To me, the most exciting thing is that no applique or curved piecing is involved. Only easy piecing! There is no sign of spring here yet, so I am … [Read more...]

I have a big box of fat quarters from this wonderful collection - Fossil Fern (Benartex), once you start to use them, it's hard to stop!
