So you have only one scrap of fabric left and you can't finish that block because the piece is too small. It's only 1/8'' smaller than the desired size!! Or 3/16''. Do not throw it away and do not despair! You still could use it - successfully! Here is what you have to do: - keep the smaller piece on top - align the left edges of the patches - stitch with 1/4'' seam allowance, aligning … [Read more...]

Quilting designs on fabric
Do you remember the Lollipops quilts I made last year? At the time I made many other designs and I just had to use a few. So I printed these ones at Spoonflower with the intention to make pillows. But pillows must be frequently washed and I want to keep the colors bright as long as possible so I have to use these for other projects, that don't need washing. Maybe I will laminate a few, … [Read more...]

Three Color Quilt
It started as a two color quilt, but I did not have enough fabric so I added the third color. It was the best idea! I wanted it in a custom size and I had to add borders. In the end, it's not the size I needed. I just couldn't add 10'' wide borders! I have 6'' blocks and a 10'' border seems oversized. On the computer the design looks good, but I did not want to try it on fabric. So after I cut … [Read more...]
