These days I am playing with faux leather. I wanted to cut out a pattern from it and I tried the technique on a small thing. I printed the pattern on paper and I created a stencil. I used a stencil cutter from Olfa. Then I transferred the pattern to the back of the faux leather and cut it out - with the same stencil cutter. It worked wonderfully. I made a cardholder. How to Sew Kaleidoscope Hexagons
Do you know the "stack-n-whack" kaleidoscope technique (I learned it from a book by Bethany Reynolds ); I used it often in my first years of quilting. Even now, when I see a beautiful print, I imagine how it would look like in a kaleidoscope quilt. This technique is about stacking multiple layers of fabric with identical print (fabric repeats) and cutting shapes to create a block with a … [Read more...]

Use this idea if you draw by hand; the same principle applies if you use a … [Read more...]

But this is not an impediment in loving the music of French singer Mylene Farmer. We are ready for our third trip to Paris to see her in concerts. We have tickets for 3 concerts. I know, you think we are crazy. Are we crazy … [Read more...]
Quilted Hexagons
Nothing pieced here; just a whole piece of fabric; I made a big hexagon template and I marked a few on fabric. Then I quilted and washed the pieces to get rid of marking lines. A new world - wholecloth +hexagons! Can't wait to explore it! Someday! … [Read more...]
