Description
Harmony – quilt as you go pattern
Learn a new technique and practice free motion quilting while stitching a quilt that will turn heads!
You will learn so much sewing this quilt!
The blocks of this quilt were individually free motion quilted then they were “pieced” together using an easy technique – quilt as you go.
The pattern includes 33 designs- 27 designs measure 20” and 6 designs measure 7”.
Here are a few of my blocks.
You could use the blocks for small projects (pillows, table runners…) or you could join them into a big quilt.
If free motion quilting intimidates you, this pattern is for you!
If quilting a big quilt intimidates you, this technique is for you!
I have been quilting for 16 years but I still notice the difference between quilting a small quilt and quilting a big quilt.
This project is wonderful for beginner quilters, as the entire quilting is done on individual blocks.
FAT QUARTER friendly quilt as you go pattern
You can sew blocks in any size you need.
I printed my patterns at a reduced size (14”) and I used fat quarters.
The designs are very simple- concentric rosettes (flowers) with 4, 6, 8, 12, 16, and 20 petals.
Because they were so fun to sew, I thought to add a few variations to each one.
You will want to practice free motion quilting more!
Stitching these repetitive designs creates a rhythm that invites you to stitch more and more – it’s a kind of addiction.
That’s why I made 33 designs and I already stitched more than 20!
See big photos and details of all the blocks I stitched here, here, here, and here.
