These are some bad pictures but the bags look really beautiful. I used the pattern of this bag, I just modified the size of some pieces. This faux leather is the perfect fabric- soft and flexible - for this pattern. What I love most at this bag is the simplicity of the top edge. A quilting weight fabric doubled with a medium interfacing is not soft and flexible anymore (some fusible … [Read more...]
Faux Leather Shopping Bags
So here is the faux leather shopping bag. Because the wrong side of faux leather is really ugly, I thought to add lining. It is as easy to sew it with lining as it is without it. Do you like the assorted straps? It is a little bigger than the previous versions. Now see how hard working I am! I made these in 5 minutes! I would die to have that green in the top right corner! Happy … [Read more...]
Sewing With Faux Leather
I am sewing two new faux leather bags. While on Internet I read that you need a special foot to sew this material (a non-stick foot, teflon foot - there are different names for different brands), I stitch perfectly with my walking foot. On my Pfaff (Select), this foot is integrated, it's not a separate attachment. I use it to piece everything, not only for quilting. And I LOVE it! This … [Read more...]
Still playing with faux leather
I hope my bags don't become too boring - I am not tired of making them. I still have colors or types of faux leather that I want to try. And because always there is someone's birthday - these are the easiest gifts to sew and the recipients love them. Always! Isn't fabulous this color ? And the pattern on faux leather really doesn't require a complicated pattern for the bag. I love to combine … [Read more...]
New Faux Leather Bags
One for me and one for my sister Nina. The colors are even more beautiful than the ones in these pictures. Nina wanted a zipper closure. It is not hard to sew it but I like magnetic snaps more. Zipper on the back - it's unbelievable how quickly the zipper stock is over! And this is mine - these became now my favorite tones of green. I still have some new colors to combine. … [Read more...]
Faux Leather Tote Bag
Does this happen to you too ? Sometimes Blogger changes a little the colors of some of my photos, after I upload them into a blog post. At least, it is what I see on my monitor. These colors are really beautiful: indigo blue and taupe. Perfect combination for my sister Oana: she loves blue and sober colors. I made a lot of bags for my sisters but they carry them all the time and I think they … [Read more...]
Faux Leather Bag
A new bag - the first item sewed in the last two weeks. It's great to feel again the desire to sew! And look at this texture! Achieved with no effort. It's just fabric- a soft faux leather with a partially cut away pattern. The fabric stretches and I had to be creative with the straps. The lining is a stiff and heavyweight canvas. I love more and more this pattern. It's the same … [Read more...]
Faux Leather Bag in Argyle pattern
I and my sister Nina make a lot of plans. She will retire in about 4 years and we dream to grow my little business and work together! For now she took three weeks off from her job and we thought we will stitch a lot! The first week my nephew Alex was sick - we stitched nothing! The second week Alex went to his home but he left the cold - we stitched almost nothing! This is the third week … [Read more...]

Large Tote Bag
More than 3 years ago I made a large tote bag for a new mom in our family - my youngest sister Nico. My little nephew Alex visits with us very often and I am already sick of that bag! I had to make a new one- bigger! The back is different. I love the 2 color straps. The black straps is just a little wider than the white one. Happy sewing! … [Read more...]
