I spent the last week with my little nephew Alex. Surprisingly, I found out that it is easier to take care of a 19 month child than to sew quilts. Or maybe I am just tired of sewing…
But definitely I am not tired of shopping. This time I visited one of the two local fabric stores.Usually I can’t find what I need, but this time I was lucky. Wide fabric for the back of future quilts…
I can’t wait to wash this piece. If it is of good quality, I would make a wholecloth with this piece as front.
And minky…or at least, I think minky should look like this…because I did never buy…
I thought it would be nice to add it to the back of a quilt, but it would be too much competition between the front and back! It looks and feels fabulous as is!
Anyway, which side is the front ? The colors are more intense on the side with short pile.
On another note, I am happy to see that quilters are making projects from my book. You can see examples here and here.
Stay tuned for a giveaway soon. For my book and something more…
Wishing you a great sewing week,
Geta
PS. This week I will sew something for sure!

What pretty, fun, colors! I've used minky on the backs of quilts, they are very cuddly. Good luck finding something to go with it!

If the last piece is cotton, it is flannel. If it is polyester, it is minky. Minky is very slinky! LOL. Love all your choices of fabrics.
