Here is how I am spending the International Quilting Day – stitching with 2 of my non-quilter sisters.
In about 2 weeks I think we will show you the top of our group quilt.
Geta, Oana and Nina; and the third black cat of the house. |
My sisters call me “the boss” of this project. And as the boss I am allowed to stitch more and stitch the hardest parts. I am serious about this, see the proof below.
I can’t wear thimble; in fact, I tried one 12 years ago for hand quilting and did not enjoy it.
For now, I am happy with this alternative 🙂
How are you spending this day ?

Good morning Geta…..just about to leave for a friends house for a day of sewing and quilting with four other friends. Should be a fun day! Enjoy!!

looks like you are having fun. I can't wear regular thimbles but I like the kind that stick on your fingers instead. leather disc or metal just stick on the pad of your fingertip

That is a gorgeous quilt you are sitting on. I'll remember your trick next time I lose my thimble or leave it home by mistake.
Happy Quilting!

What a pretty quilt you and your sisters are lounging on while piecing! And what a wonderful way to pass the day together. I have been doing some embroidery and crocheting today, maybe some quilt blocks tomorrow.

The quilt you are sitting on is beautiful. It's nice that you have two people to sew with you.

I love your grandmother's flower garden quilt. Did you do the quilting yourself? I am piecing one and starting to think about how I might quilt it. I would rather quilt it by machine than by hand. It looks like you are having fun!
Karen at Fireball says
Fun to sew with your sisters. I love sewing with one of my sisters as well when I get the chance, though she lives far away. I agree with other commenters–the quilt you are sitting on is wonderful.

I can't wear a thimble either and just end up with sore fingers when I EPP. I've also tried tape but mostly use nothing.
