I hope my bags don’t become too boring – I am not tired of making them. I still have colors or types of faux leather that I want to try.
And because always there is someone’s birthday – these are the easiest gifts to sew and the recipients love them. Always!
Isn’t fabulous this color ? And the pattern on faux leather really doesn’t require a complicated pattern for the bag. I love to combine colors but I love this simple bag too.
I used interfacing only on the bottom to make it sturdy.

And this pouch was made out of a very thin material – it looks like leather but it is very fine and stretches a lot. I suppose it is used for clothing, not bags.
For this pouch I used my quick pattern. The zipper turned out better than I expected, thinking of all those pleats.

I textured the fabric with Canadian smocking.
It works even on thicker faux leather!
I made your pouch pattern. I understood your directions well. That says a lot because I am 3d challenged in sewing. I do quilts fine. I did make the mistake with the zippers going opposite ways although I tried not to. I attributed your pattern on my blog, http://artinsearch.blogspot.com
I love the canadian smocking.. very clever and not very often seen. It would look good also on a pillow.
You are quite prolific in your sewing!
happy quilting
The bags are beautiful. Is the smocking hard to do? I love it.
The smocking is AMAZING! It creates stunning pouches in the faux leathers !! And I love the bigger bag you made! Where do you get your faux leather?
