I am making a Dresden Fan quilt. A new version of the quilt I made in 2011.
I am using polka dots again, just different polka dots…
I have even white on white polka dots…
If you remember, I am not fond of turned edge appliques. That’s why I chose to turn the Dresden Fan block into an octagon then into a square. Who doesn’t love piecing squares?
This is definitely a fun block! I still need 2-3 days of work to finish the top.
Have a great weekend,
Geta

Oh, Geta – your post today has really touched me! My sister Susie of Susie's Sunroom just gave me a bundle of polka dots for Christmas, and now I know exactly what I want to make from it! I hadn't seen that original quilt before, and it is fascinating. This new method looks like such FUN, and I really enjoy making Dresden blocks, too. BIG thank you for showing these tips!!! And now…if I could only learn to quilt as beautifully as you do!

They are all beautiful blocks whatever the shape is. I like the square idea though, brilliant!
