And this is the bag for my sister Oana; she wanted a bag with front pockets too, but a bigger bag.
At first, I thought to search the original Amelie pattern on my computer and print it bigger. Then I realized that I already have a pattern for a bigger bag – Nicole. Since this bag is very large, I printed all the templates at 90% and here is the bag- a good size for a big everyday bag.
The floral fabric is by Jeni Baker and the blue fabric is batik.
For the outer bag, I fused first a lightweight interfacing to the quilt weight fabric, then I added batting and a heavyweight backing and I quilted.
I like using heavyweight fabric for the lining; quilt weight fabric (or other lightweight fabric) should be doubled with interfacing, so I am happy when I can skip this step!
I made even a matching pouch!
Bag Pattern: Nicole
Pouch Pattern: 30 Minute Pouch
Now some mini bags are in line!
Happy sewing!
