Here is another shadow trapunto quilt from my collection.
It measures 25” and because the trapunto design is not heavily quilted, it’s so soft and fluffy!
I love this simple design. What do you see first? The trapunto design (the white part) or the design made out by the lack of trapunto? Because I did not quilt inside the trapunto design, it seems both designs compete for our attention. Anyway, I love that 20-petal flower in the center!
Many of my first shadow trapunto quilts were quilted with invisible thread. Then I started using white thread and a few quilts were quilted with colored thread.
The red thread I used on this one makes any little imperfection visible! That’s why I think the white thread is the best option.
Outside the design I quilted pebbles, I think it was a good choice.
And this is the back.
If the shadow trapunto technique is new to you, check out my tutorial.
Have a lovely sewing week!

Thank you so much, Linda. I love that the sheer organza allows us to see the beauty of the fabric underneath.
