Enhancing a quilt design and giving it a pronounced “stuffed” effect with an additional layer of batting is called “trapunto”.
It’s a beautiful technique, it requires simple steps and the effect is gorgeous – you don’t only see it, you feel it!

I quilted the entire quilt with Aurifil thread: 12wt thread to outline the letters and for the heart lines and 50wt for the dense quilting around the letters.
