Do you remember these little white hexagon flowers? I love the look so much and I thought to quilt an entire flower sphere with this motif.
And here is the result:
The flowers are small and easy to quilt and you may think that I changed the color of the thread after each flower?
Not at all! I quilted with the same color 4-5 flowers then I changed the thread and quilted other 4-5 flowers.
I used the same Aurifil 28wt thread.
This thread weight works great for wholecloth quilts.

I am awed at the quality of the work you produce. I am a self taught quilter and struggled many years at improving my skills. I started with other people’s scraps of mixed fabrics and could not afford classes. Fortunately I discovered an awesome array of experienced quilters who were not afraid to share their expertise and show their work on You Tube. That is where I learned short cuts and tips and really began to improve the speed and quality of my own work. My own tip: for free motion quilting I use hand sized squares of shelf liners instead of gloves. The squares are cut from the roll of shelf liner, are easy to wash or replace, and I simply move them around as I quilt, I have greater control than just my finger tips, and nothing slips. My hands don’t dry out and no more hang nails caused by constantly putting on gloves. Love your work and those outside the box quilts.
